The Violet O. Jeffers - Nicholls Primary School on Monday July 07, hosted its graduation ceremony at the Combermere Methodist Church under the theme "Desire, Determination and Discipline - Compelling Agents For Higher Achievement".

 

Minister of Communications in the Nevis Island Administration (NIA) Hon. Robelto Hector sat in for Area Representative Hon. Patrice Nisbett at the event and delivered the feature address.

 

The Minister offered motivational words to the students while he paid special attention to the afternoon's theme.

 

"Without a burning desire to achieve something in our lives, we are destined for mediocrity.  Determination is essential to getting your plan into action.  You must have that desire; you must make good decisions, you must have determination and you must have discipline," he said.

 

He also congratulated the graduands on their achievements and encouraged them to continue working hard.

 

 "You are all about to embark on a part of life's journey which begins at high school.  It is that time when you begin to focus on your goals.  Your parents have done their best; your teachers have given their all.  It is now your time to begin applying this formula that your theme reflects," Minister Hector said.

 

Meantime, the graduates received several awards from various businesses and members of the community.  The Premier's Award for top girl and boy went to Master. Zaakwan Nisbett and Ms. Laticia Brookes.
